Angie Makes: The Artist Behind the Background
If you've been reading Whim for only a little while now, you will still recognize some of the very beautiful images above. When it came to finding a cohesive style for Whim, we searched the internet far and wide to find the most perfect 'look'. We desired whimsical watercolours, soft hues and (of course) floral patterns. As you can imagine, stumbling upon Angie Makes was like a dream come true.
Angie Makes is "a boutique design company specializing in feminine WordPress themes, blogs, creative clip art, watercolor bits, and fonts." Some of the best purchases we have made so far in regards to Whim and its' branding has been the various 'Watercolour Papers and Patterns' packages that we have chosen to buy. Not only are the floral designs very beautiful to look at, but they also help to reinforce the whimsical, dreamy and quite feminine style of Whim Online Magazine.
Over the next few weeks, we will be taking a more in-depth look at the different elements which all contribute to the 'greater picture' of Whim. What better way to start than to feature the company responsible for both the look and feel of the Whim blog, Facebook page, and digital magazine issues?
Angie Makes consists of a small, but dedicated and highly talented team of Angie (lead designer), Chris (theme support and development) and Sara (font expert). The team explain: "At the heart of who we are is a deep desire and need to create– whether that creation takes the shape of slick website templates, doodles, fonts, clip art, and code bits."
