Artist Showcase: Ilse van Staden, Amy Hersch & Jessica Le

Ilse van Staden:

Ilse van Staden is a South African-born illustrator and writer living in Queensland, Australia. Ilse van Staden has degrees in not only art, but also science, and it is evident that science still has a large influence on her work, particularly through its concentration on nature.
We love the artist’s vibrant and colourful paintings, and have particularly fallen in love with the stunning works that focus on the sea and marine life.
To view the rest of Ilse van Staden’s artworks, you can visit her website ‘Colour and Quill’. The artist also takes commissions and orders, and all contact information can be found on her website.
Amy Hersch:
Amy Hersch is an artist residing in Sydney, Australia, who was also born in South Africa. Amy states that her passion for art is inspired by her many travels and experiences with diverse cultures.
Amy has called Sydney home for the past 16 years, however before that she also spent a lot of her childhood living in Israel. Amy explains: “My artworks are snapshots of moments I had during my journeys. The strong contrast and monochromatic scheme in my works accentuates the somber narrative within the piece.”
Amy’s unique artworks have not gone unnoticed, as in early 2012, Amy was invited to work with leading artist Mirta Kupferminc in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Amy is an avid traveller, having visited numerous places including India, Cuba and Africa. The artist also spent a year living in Manhattan, where she worked at Jim Kempner Fine Art gallery in Chelsea, NYC.

Jessica Le:
Jessica Le is a 20-year-old artist living in Sydney, Australia, who dreams of one day becoming a professional illustrator and designer. Jessica states, “My only goal in life is to draw beautiful things and I take a lot of pride and care in my work towards that goal.”
The young student’s work already shows so much talent and artistic flair, and we particularly love her sketchy pencil illustrations of females reminiscent of the Victorian era.
We know that this young artist will go a long way with her art, and believe that her dreams of one day becoming a professional illustrator and designer are not too far away at all! To view more artworks by Jessica, you can visit her Tumblr page
