Last Saturday night, I had a lovely time attending Stylist Fideliz Cruz's business launch and birthday. Located at Manly Emporium, the room was filled with black and gold balloons and pretty vases containing colourful flowers. There was plenty of entertainment for the evening, including performances by talented musicians such as Monique ShippenJoseph Nassif and Ryan Morgan, as well as a runway show featuring Fideliz's hand-picked outfits and even a separate room offering free makeup touch-ups and nail painting.
Fideliz Cruz is a truly inspirational soul. Based in Sydney, the 'Motivational Personal Stylist' states that she is "passionate about life and all of its beauty...Inspired by my faith, my family and my love for people." Her newly-launched website further explains: "It is my passion to encourage and motivate women to see themselves as they were created. BEAUTIFUL. I am here to help you develop the confidence to dress with style and individuality. You will learn how to dress according to your body shape and take pride in your personal appearance, while gaining confidence in your sense of style. I believe that we were born creative, and we have been given the freedom to confidently express our inner beauty through our appearance."
At Fideliz's launch, there was also the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to go into the draw to win some amazing prices, with the money raised from the tickets going directly to the Stylist's chosen charity - Anchor of Hope. The charity's website explains: "Anchor of Hope’s noble vision is to alleviate the children in Indonesia, regardless of race and condition, from poverty and misfortune. To be a bringer of hope to despair-ridden orphans and help them achieve their dreams and hopes. Anchor of Hope strives to bring quality medical, education, and living amnesties to all children who does not have access to them. In the future, we believe that we can build our own buildings and foundations so that children will have proper access to health services and education. This action could bring a solid future foundation for Indonesia and their communities."
All in all it was a fantastic evening to promote the launch of Fideliz's dream; her own styling business. My favourite part of the night would have to have been the runway show, as each of the garments presented were stunning, and showed Fideliz's real knack at choosing flattering and feminine outfits to suit each individual. The floral crowns by Bella Rowz constantly caught my eye, and I couldn't be more honoured to have such wonderful headpieces in a photoshoot in the upcoming Autumn Issue. Last but not least, it was also such a joy to finally meet the very lovely Nicole Johnson in person. Not only has the talented model featured on the Whim blog and in the Spring Issue previously, but she is also the cover model of our upcoming Autumn Issue!
I highly recommend that you check out all of the inspiring individuals mentioned above who are working so hard towards their dreams. I want to say a special thank you to Fideliz Cruz for putting on such a wonderful event, and I wish her every success with her new business.
