Featured RAW Sydney Artist: Amber Louise

'Speechless'; the only word to describe Whim's reaction to viewing the spectacular creations from artist Amber Louise. This young Sydney-based creative came to our attention at the recent RAW Sydney 'Mosaic' showcase last month, and definitely shone as a standout display. Realistic barely begins to cover the intricacy of her art. These works are like staring into a beautifully framed photograph, so lifelike and brimming with perfection we struggled to tear our gaze away.
In her artistic statement, Amber reveals "I enjoy drawing the more peculiar, angular faces of high fashion models as I find them to be a more interesting subject matter in comparison to traditionally beautiful people." Taking inspiration from the uniqueness of the human form, Amber effortlessly depicts the finest of details in her work. Amazingly, this self-taught artist produces her portraiture using only graphite, charcoal and carbon pencils, with the precision of her art a true testament to her indisputable creative talents.
In moving forward, Amber strives to continue to evolve as an artist through exploring other forms of media such as inks and watercolour. The sincerity her art possess is an admirable quality, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this emerging artist.
Make sure you head over to Amber's Facebook page and Tumblr for an insight into the outstanding quality of work this creative has produced so far. We expect that only bigger and more wonderful things are likely to unfold for this artist in the coming years!
