'An Autumn Afternoon': A Collaboration Between Whim Online Magazine & JANIN Australia

Being part of a small team can often see a person having to play many different roles, and this photoshoot saw Whim's Editor acting as a photographer for the day and Whim's Intern getting in front of the lens as a model - and doing a brilliant job of it too!
As recently-named ambassadors for Gold Coast-based label JANIN Australia, we wanted to take advantage of the beautifully sunny weather of late and showcase one of our favourite dresses from the label - the stunning Ellia Skyflower dress. The lush green garden provided a perfect backdrop for the blue and white floral design of the dress, and we had plenty of fun dressing it up with all of our favourite accessories, including white lace, Lucinda's pastel purple Converse sneakers, flower-adorned sunglasses and of course, a flower crown!
JANIN Australia was launched in 2010 by the very talented Aneta Rycombel, who decided to pursue her dream after two years of work as a patternmaker and designer in Queensland. Previously, Aneta had lived in Poland, however she moved to Australia in 2008 to study fashion at the Academy of Design where she graduated with a diploma in 2008.
We're sure it comes as no surprise that Aneta's work has earned her numerous, prestigious awards and we cannot wait to share more designs and upcoming lookbooks with you from this Australian label, so stay tuned!
The series of images featured on our blog today makes up part one of the shoot we completed with the lovely Ellia Skyflower dress, and we just know that you will also love part two of this series (which has a glittery, water theme!)
