Featured Lookbook: Yasmynel Winter '14 by Giacomo James Zadro Photography
It's all about neon pink and the elegant, modern designs of Australian fashion label Yasmynel on the Whim website today. Captured by the talented Giacomo James Zadro Photography, the label's Winter 2014 lookbook showcases the collection titled 'Reflections'. We love the dreamy duplications and 'mirage' effect of these images, as well as the feminine colourings and silky, cropped tops.
Yasmynel was launched in June 2011 by Sydney-based fashion designer Yasmyn El-sayed. The label's website explains: "Yasmynel Designs embodies a new form of art to the fashion world. Essential to the designs are structure, silhouette, and a pop of colour between the darker pallets. Ranging from genres such as Gothic architecture, bio-mimicry, and mythologies, the collections all have a consistent underlying influence deriving from Avant Garde."
Whim was delighted to be introduced to this label by talented photographer Giacomo, who is also based in our hometown of Sydney, Australia. Giacomo states, "Throughout my recent memory I can’t remember a time I wasn’t taking photos. I started taking weddings professionally in early 2006, decided to walk the streets of Sydney looking for inspiration, ventured overseas seeking perfection (which still alludes me) , and now I photograph everything from landscapes to fashion."
Giacomo has won numerous, impressive awards including 'The Epson International Pano Awards 2013 Silver Star Landscape' and 'Creative Asia Awards 2012 Bronze Star Street and Travel'.
We encourage you to check out the talented work of these creatives, and you can visit Giacomo's website and Facebook page to see more of his photography. You can also check out the wonderful designs of Yasmynel by visiting the label's website and Facebook page. Enjoy!
