Featured Event: Confetti Fair Twilight Sydney
Last Sunday afternoon, I had the pleasure of attending Confetti Fair's Twilight event at Fairground Follies in Sydney. My good friend Emma runs What a Night Events (you can view a guest post from her here and one of our first collaborative shoots from early last year here), and she knew this event would be right up her alley! Whim Online Magazine has also been a long-time follower of Confetti Fair on Instagram, so I jumped at the chance to buy a ticket and come along.
Even weeks before the event I knew I was in for something pretty special, but I have to admit that the event exceeded my expectations and completely blew me away with its unique stalls, generous goodie bag (with a few extra freebies thrown in by super friendly vendors!) and its amazing carnival atmosphere. Confetti Fair could not have chosen a better location - Fairground Follies is situated at the Antique Mechanical Music Museum and it features a stunning collection of carasouls, a Gypsy vardo, and ornate fair organs.
So what exactly is Confetti Fair? Confetti Fair's website explains that it is Australia's only boutique party fair showcasing independant retailers in cakes, sweets, dessert tables, planning, styling, flowers, stationery, party products and decor, with a fun photobooth thrown in for good measure.
Confetti Fair explained the event brilliantly on its website, stating: "Remember the days of magical fairs and twinkling lights, you would see them in the old movies - the fair would come to town and the whole place would become alight with laughter, prettiness and that special sparkle. We will be bringing that to Sydney with Confetti Fair Twilight - a boutique party fair for grown up soirees. A touch of glamour, a hint of intrigue and a whole lot of party magic. Confetti Fair Twilight will be unique to Sydney, it will be like you have walked in to a big party and each visitor is the guest of honour. It will be for those celebrating a milestone birthday, an engagement, a bridal shower, a wedding, an anniversary, a going away... anything worth celebrating on a grown up level."
The event even featured a pop-up wedding (held by Macarthur Pop Up Weddings) and it was beautiful to watch Ashley and Natasha accept their wedding vows whilst surrounded by the twinkling lights, vibrant blooms and delicious food of the showcasing vendors.
Did you know that Confetti Fair is also a magazine? "Confetti Fair Magazine is a quarterly publication for the DIY party host. Full of inspiration, tutorials, real parties, styled parties, products and lots more it is the first Australian magazine to focus solely on parties. Available from all leading newsagencies and by subscription," states the Confetti Fair website.
We urge you to like the Confetti Fair Facebook page in order to keep up-to-date with their events, workshops and magazine. You can also visit the Confetti Fair website here and check out their publications on Issuu. Enjoy!
