Whim is Looking for 2 New Contributing Bloggers!

Ever wanted to write for Whim2

Are you currently studying writing, journalism or a related course and love writing about topics such as dreamy photography, art and fashion? If you’d like to gain some valuable experience contributing content to a fast-growing website / online magazine whilst having plenty of fun (all from the comfort of your own home) then you’re in luck! Sydney-based Whim Online Magazine is looking for 2 work experience blog contributors based anywhere in the world to write just 2 – 3 posts each week…all of which are only approximately 200 – 350 words long!

The successful applicants will:

  • Be familiar with Whim’s voice and specific aesthetic (dreamy, whimsical, ethereal etc.) This is an absolute MUST, as we are looking for 2 writers who are able to produce written content that fits seamlessly into our already established website.
  • Have an interest in or love of whimsical / dreamy photography, art, and fashion.
  • Have excellent writing skills, including perfect grammar and spelling.

As mentioned above, you can be based anywhere in Australia / the world, as this is a work-from-home / online position that would only take up approximately 1 – 3 hours of your time each week. Whim’s Editor will provide you with your topics each week too, so you won’t have to spend extra time sourcing your own content ideas :)

To apply for this position, please:

  • Email whim.online@gmail.com with a little introduction about yourself and why you would love to take on this role. Please be sure to include where you are based and links to any previously published work!
  • Now comes the important bit: We will only consider applicants for this role who include a 250 – 350 words sample blog post with their email (included in the email body or attached as a PDF / Word Document is perfect!) We would love for applicants to write their sample blog post about a photographer, artist or fashion label that they believe suits Whim Online Magazine’s dreamy and whimsical aesthetic. We will be paying close attention to the way the sample blog post is written also, so please be sure to check outwww.whimmagazine.com to familiarise yourself with our desired voice / way of writing.

Please note that this position is unpaid, although it would count as valuable experience towards your studies in writing, journalism, media and communication etc. Best of luck to all those who apply, and we cannot wait to read your sample blog posts!
