Today at Whim, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the talented Caitie Macree, an illustrator and surface pattern designer from Sydney. Describing herself as having a “lifelong obsession with all things beautiful, magical and creative”, Caitie specializes in watercolour and pen works.

With gorgeous vibrant colours, her illustrations feature mostly flowers, birds and animals. Inspired by colour and pattern, nature and magical fairy-tales, we find in her work subjects that are both real and imagined, unicorns being among her favourites. Her artwork shines with clear fantasy influences that we find absolutely enchanting!

Though watercolour is Caitie’s preferred medium, she also works in a variety of media, such as pencil, acrylic and ink, with a recent incorporation of subtle digital elements. She also designs her own range of fabric prints, which are on sale through her Spoonflower shop. Apart from selling gorgeous fabrics, Caitie is currently designing her own brand of accessories, which she aims to have available for sale by the end of this year.
