Emily Pearl is a dreamer and explorer, who travels the world in search of natural beauty. The images in her photo series Sweet Warrior revolve around these passions. They are imbued with a contemplative stillness which reveals her deep connection with nature.

Emily Pearl’s photo series is influenced by her love of travel; her childhood was spent in vibrant Indonesia, before she moved to Colorado. Her life has clearly exposed her to the beauty of the outdoors.

Her home in Colorado seems to present no boundaries to Emily’s dreaming mind. Sweet Warrior’s expansive farmstead would surely let her mind wander without bounds, in a quiet and peaceful Denver life.

The photo shoot’s name, Sweet Warrior, is multifaceted, imbued with opposites.

Emily’s sweet and gentle love of animals is clear in the sunlight-filtered photographs. Emily’s model gazes softly at the horse, which, in turn, appears to be smiling back at her. This is a delicate moment between human and animal in which Emily emphasises humans’ ardent connection with animals.

Opposing this is a warrior-like strength which strides into the photographs. The horse, a handsome russet colour, is prominent in Emily’s frames. It lends a steadiness to the photographs; strong and calm, it is truly preparing for a gentle battle.
