With April Elizabeth, we are transported into Autumn’s vividness; we can almost feel the crunch of an Autumn leaf underfoot as we wander through her photographs. You may remember April’s sun-filled photography from when we featured it on Whim in October. Now she is featured here with her photoshoot, “Butterflies and Autumn.”April reveals to us the tenderness of the transition between Summer and Winter, as the sunlight slowly fades into a softer palette, the air slightly cools, and delicate butterflies flit through the air, through the dappled sunlight.The notion of time, and of transition, is further illustrated to us through the elegant costumes. April reveals the thoughtful alterations that she made to one particular dress in the shoot. Found in a thrift shop, the dress then attained a vibrant red underlay.
