OOLI Design is more than just a label – it’s a unique brand that provides handmade items combining fine silver and gold with one of a kind, semi-precious and raw crystals. If you’re a fan of gorgeous accessories made by hand right here in Australia, then you’re going to love OOLI Design!

Wollongong-based founder and designer, Olivia Kwarda Tuivaga, confesses that OOLI Design was born from her obsession with both jewellery and lapidary. Seeking to combine her two loves, one can easily imagine the talented young designer sitting in a room bathed in moonlight as she arranges and polishes her vibrant stones before working them into her jewellery masterpieces.

Olivia first began creating unique pieces of jewellery for herself from beautiful stones she had collected whilst travelling. As her passion in jewellery-making grew, the designer soon found herself with hundreds of stunning pieces of jewellery that she just had to share with the world.

She explains on The Bumbling B blog: “I’ve always been obsessed with jewellery and have made pieces since I was in high school. Starting with bead and wire jewellery and slowly developing a serious love for lapidary, crystals and gemstones. Travelling through Sri Lanka, Nepal and Turkey in particular inspired my jewellery aesthetic, colour combinations and technique. So after getting back to Australia with crystals and stones I’d collected, I was itching to start creating!

From milky agate to ocean jasper and gold-encrusted druzy stones, Olivia certainly knows her stuff when it comes to only sourcing the most eye-catching and beautiful of crystals.

Another thing we love about this label is the impressive array of colours and styles of jewellery available. Modern back necklaces, waist chains and triple golden armbands are found among the more traditional styles of jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets and rings.

It seems as though we aren’t the only ones falling head-over-heels for OOLI Design. The label was recently featured at RAW Wollongong’s showcase in November where Olivia’s accessories had guests mesmerized by her bohemian and stylish designs (with many attendees walking away with their very own piece of ‘OOLI’!).

When it comes to Olivia’s hopes and dreams for the future of her brand, the talented designer knows exactly where she is headed.

“My goals are always to create new pieces, that are handmade, one of kind, with stones I’ve personally picked up from around the world. Dreaming bigger I’d love to have a greater reach internationally, host pop up markets around Australia and feature in some more fashion publications and blogs,” she told The Bumbling B blog.
