DIY: Faux Flower Monogram
This fake flower monogram took less than half an hour to create, and makes for a perfect home made gift! I decided to make my monogram as an early Mother’s Day present.
.
What you’ll need:
- Paper mache letter (available from craft stores)
- An assortment of fake flowers
- A utility knife (X-Acto or Stanely)
- Floral or deco foam
- Sharp scissors
Optional:
- Pen or pencil
- Glue gun
Step 1:
With your knife, carefully take off the front face of the letter and remove inserts to hollow out.
Step 2:
Cut the foam into shapes that will fit inside your letter perfectly. To make this easier, you can use the top part of the letter you just cut off to trace the shape onto the foam.
Step 3:
Cut off each individual flower from the bunches, leaving a decent amount of wire or “stem” (I left roughly 1⁄2 an inch, but you can use your best judgement).
Step 4:
Arrange the flowers by carefully positioning the wire into the foam. Secure extra flowers with a hot glue gun if required.
