We recently interviewed the talented Patricia López Rodríguez to ask her all about her creative career and her shoot, 'The Muse'. We hope you find her answers as inspiring and insightful as we did!
.
Q: When did your love of photography first bloom?A: My love of photography first bloomed when on my 15th birthday I got a disposable camera as a gift. I began to capture what was around me and the places I used to go. Then my parents bought a 7 pixels pocket camera where I started to portray myself, since then I provided special care and dedication to self-portraits. After that I got my own camera and took photographs of landscapes, nature, my travels, portraits and recently in fashion photography.
Q: What inspires your creativity the most?A: I am inspired by everything but especially emotions and feelings. It also influences the music I listen to, nature, landscapes, my favourite places and people. I’m a storyteller in my photography.
Q: How would you describe your style of photography in just 3 words?A: Mystery, magic and fragility.
Q: Please tell us a little about the experience you had whilst working on these images 'The Muse'?A: I met Jesús Morelos (art designer) and Daniel Velázquez (fashion designer) before and I became an absolute fan of their work, I was excited by the idea of working and creating together so I proposed them a fashion collaboration where one of us can show our creativity. I also contacted Paula (model) because I think she was perfect with the idea I was visualizing. I was inspired by all of them.
Q: What does an average day in the life of Patricia involve?A: I get up and I read to keep my mind with positive thoughts all day, then I go for a walk and come home to work editing photos and creating new ideas while drinking my favourite tea. Then I get ready for my dance practice.
Q: What do you hope to achieve with your work in the not-too-distant future; Do you have any upcoming, exciting plans that you would like to share with us?A: I want to be a successful and satisfied woman, I clearly have this on my mind. I work on it every day. I challenge myself like travelling alone, solve my own problems and seek my own sources of employment through my work. I have fears but they don’t dominate me, I'm pretty sure of what I want and where I'm going. I am currently preparing a photography exhibition in my city, working and collaborating in some audiovisual projects, and I’m interested in travelling everywhere.
