DIY: No-Sew Pillow Cover
I always to try to create tutorials that are simple and quick, but this one definitely exceeds those expectations! It’s perfect for those who don’t know how to sew, or are just too lazy to whip out the sewing machine.
All you’ll need is a big piece of fabric, an iron, a pillow / cushion insert (or just a pillow you’re sick of!) and fabric scissors.
Perhaps the only trick to this tutorial is knowing exactly what size that fabric should be! Of course, this depends on the size of pillow you’ll be using. Based on my experience, the fabric you use should be at least three times as wide as the pillow, and two and half times taller.
Step 1: Cut your fabric to the appropriate size using special fabric scissors, and iron it to get rid of any creases or wrinkles.
Step 2: Lay down your fabric bottom side up on a flat surface, and then place your pillow in the middle.
Step 3: Fold the bottom half of the fabric to the centre of the pillow, and then do the same with the top half.
Step 4: Fold both ends as shown in the photos above.
Step 5: Bring each side over the top of the pillow, and tie together. If the ends are particularly long, you can fold them under and over the middle to create a cute knot. If you can get this part neat enough, you can use it as the front of your pillow to add some character!
