Music Review: "17 Miles" from Jared Deck
Today we're reviewing a single track from Country / Americana musician Jared Deck titled "17 Miles".
From the get-go of this song, Jared Deck paints a vivid picture of an old, American country town with his wonderful lyrics:
"tumbleweeds rolling like cartwheels on a gravel road."
The song is an explosion of country and Americana sound - from the upbeat guitar to Jared's Oklahoma drawl.
Drawing parallels with work from other musicians such as John Mellencamp, Ryan Adams and Tom Petty, Jared conveys his thoughts and ideas about the land that surrounds him. It is a place where, in his own words, “dreams are born and die”.
The talented musician does not act alone in this single, as he has a talented group of musicians assisting his vision. These include Brandon Cink on electric guitar, Fred Hanradt on bass, Travis McKinzie on drums, Jacy Deck on piano, and Chris Wiser on organ.
Overall, this is a very fun and catchy tune which conjures up images of a rockin' saloon filled with cowboys drinking beer and playing pool.
Be sure to add it to your roadtrip playlist to channel some of those Americana vibes!
You can stream the track for free over on SoundCloud, and please be sure to visit Jared's website, Facebook page and YouTube channel to keep updated with his marvellous music. Enjoy!
