Music Review: "Imagination" from The Como Brothers Band

Music Review Template

When you combine singer/songwriter duo The Como Brothers Band with other musical talent such as Grammy Award winning producer Graham Marsh (who worked with Bruno Mars), you get one fantastic album indeed.

I had the recent pleasure of listening to "Imagination", the new record from brothers Matt and Andrew Como, and can honestly say that it was a joy to listen to with its stripped down and catchy sound.

With a sound spanning across genres such as pop, rock and blues, The Como Brothers Band reminded me very much of fellow singer James Morrison. In the opening track, titled "Good Enough for Me", I thought the vocals were incredibly alike to those of Michael Buble also (which, isn't a bad thing!).

The second track, "Tell you I'm Fine", contained lovely summertime vibes, bringing me right back to the hotter months. I found myself reminiscing about going to the beach with my friends and spending balmy nights with the warm breeze against my bare skin. (Don't forget, it's winter here in Australia at the moment!)

"Chemicals" is my favourite track out of the record's 6 songs. It contained less blues and more of a pop / rock sound, which I loved. Its relaxed rhythm and brilliant vocals really caught my attention, and I can see this song being on repeat on my iPod. I also think this track will be a huge hit upon its release, not just in the US but here in Australia too...so, stay tuned for that!

"Make My Heart Move" contains a similar pop sound, while "Imagination" is slower and perhaps more sombre than the previous tracks. It is quite calming to listen to, and again, reminds me vocally of much-loved musicians such as James Morrison and John Mayer (win-win!).

There is also a bonus track at the end of the record, and without giving TOO much away, it is a live cover of a famous song which fans will enjoy very much.

Reading back over my review I realise that I haven't had a negative word to say, but when you stumble upon a gem like this, it's best to celebrate it for all that it's worth :)

You can listen to the song "Good Enough For Me" from the record for free over on SoundCloud, so be sure to check it out! You can also find out more about the band through visiting their website or following along on Facebook and Instagram (@ComoBrosBand). Enjoy!
