Review: AfterCam App for iPhone
While this app is aimed at just about anyone who loves to capture memories through video on their phone (and who doesn't?), we just know that our fellow creatives (you guys!) are especially going to love it!
AfterCam is a recently released app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. What's amazing about this app is that it's designed to eliminate the need to record and edit hours of video in order to capture the short, unpredictable highlights people are really after.
How, you ask? The process is incredibly simple: "AfterCam is always capturing video in an internal loop, but nothing gets saved anywhere until the user wants it to. Aim it like a regular video camera. Pinch the screen to zoom. Once something happens that is worth keeping, a tap of a button saves a video clip of the past 5, 10 or 20 seconds." (AfterCam)
Another element of this app that I loved, was its ability to let you still capture a photograph without it affecting your video capture. It was also super simple to use, with on-screen instructions 'walking you through' the process with ease.
AfterCam was released in 2015 by Kemari, LLC, an innovative mobile development company founded by Kent Symanzik, Rick Englert and Mack Dobbie. They state that their vision is simply "to create unique applications that fill a real need for our customers."
With its unique feature of capturing special moments after they've happened, it isn't hard to see why Mums and Dads in particular are shouting their praise for AfterCam. I can also see wonderful potential with this app for creatives however, as one dilemma I've always faced when observing photoshoots is that I often miss that 'behind the scenes' video capture of those breath-taking few seconds. There are always moments when everything just comes together perfectly, and you're torn between capturing a short video or still images to upload to Instagram for that special sneak-peek. Thankfully with AfterCam, it now solves this dilemma that many creatives (even the stylist, hair, make-up artist, etc.) would face.
AfterCam is available on the App Store for $2.99, so please head on over there to download it. You can also check out the AfterCam website or Facebook page for more information. Enjoy!
