Photoshoot + Interview: 'Brittany + Farran' by Nikki Zakkas
This ethereal photoshoot is by Nikki Zakkas, a young and talented photographer based in South Africa.
Featuring models Brittany and Farran bathed in sunlight and surrounded by cherry blossoms, this series of images is just what we all need to inspire us mid-week!
Of this photoshoot, Nikki further explains: "The images were taken in a botanical garden and intend to reflect the dreamy and romantic atmosphere of the space on a summer afternoon."

Q: When did your love of photography first blossom?
A: My passion fully blossomed last year while studying photography.
Q: What inspires your creativity the most?
A: The internet is an invaluable source of inspiration and information, I could spend hours scrolling through tumblr. Otherwise feeling a connection to my subject matter, whatever it may be that I am photographing, is always inspiring.
Q: Please tell us more about the experience you had capturing this beautiful series?
A: The shoot was quite loose and fun, I don't tend to be very structured in the way that I shoot. The models and I met at a botanical garden in the late afternoon and made use of the beautiful golden hour light and natural environment to create romantic portraits.
Q: What does an average day in the life of Nikki look like?
A: At the moment I am a fashion intern at Marie Claire South Africa and so my day to day life revolves around planning and assisting with the production of photo shoots or otherwise keeping track of all of the clothes sourced by the magazine for upcoming issues.
Q: What do you hope to achieve with your photography in the not-too-distant future; Do you have any exciting upcoming plans that you would like to share with us?
A: I hope to have photography become my full time job and only source of income.
