Tips for Planning a Bohemian Inspired Photoshoot (by Stefanie Vallen)
The Bohemian look is something I really like to play around with; there are so many options when it comes to textures, patterns and colours and it really lends itself to shooting on location which I love to do.
Get Inspired!
I like to use Pinterest to gather any images to use as inspiration but you might like to make a collage or just add them to a folder on your computer, I find most of my inspiration from lookbooks and blogs. Save any images you like the look and feel of and don’t forget to consider hair and makeup looks too.
Decide on a mood
There are so many different options to choose from with boho styling, anywhere from soft and romantic to darker and almost grungy. Think about what colours and textures you might want to work with and how they will fit into your location.
Props and accessories
I think boho is one of those styles where more is more so you can really go for it with layering up accessories and using some props such as peacock chairs, teepees and feather crowns. You could even get crafty and make your own props and accessories!
Think about the light
As in most photoshoot scenarios, think about how the light will affect your subject. Do you want to use direct sunny light or something more warm and backlit? Remember that the time of day will also be a factor in your light quality and appearance.
Have fun, breathe in the air and dance in the sunlight :)
