You’re never too old to play dress-up!

The contrast between the vintage-styled hair and makeup and the eclectic lineup of outfits means there’s plenty to love in this shoot. The artistic power couple behind it, Oren Levy and Nikiya Palombi, put us all to shame – Nikiya is a professional model and ballerina, while Oren is a writer, filmmaker and consultant.

Styled impeccably by Rochelle Carino, the shoot is a whimsical but glamourous celebration of play and femininity, with Nikiya demonstrating all the poise and grace of a true leading lady amongst prairie grasses and woodland. 'Queen of Nowhere', Nikiya tell us, was born when she had some new MAKE UP FOR EVER and Wella products she wanted to experiment with, and then she let her creativity run wild.

Our inspiration for this shoot was the fun of playing make believe as a child, where the simplest of places (the woods, a playground, your backyard) can become a magical kingdom,” says Nikiya.

Being a ballerina, I love tutu skirts and fairy-type headpieces so we really wanted to incorporate that. Rochelle was the perfect stylist because her tag line is literally "you're never too old to play dress up".
