'Miracles': a Dreamy F/W '17 Campaign from Lulu Martins
Who would’ve thought that the deliciously grotesque and intricate triptychs by Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch could inspire a beautiful line of clothes?
Lulu Martins, a young designer based in Buenos Aires, crafts her F/W 2017 collection with the earnestness of an author penning an epic. Taking its name from the Augsburg Book of Miracles, her collection is a journey through “unimaginable places and exotic landscapes”.
As well as Bosch’s fantastic imagery, her clothes take much of their inspiration from her childhood memories and her adventures in nature. Having designed since her teens, she also works closely with her sister Valeria, who photographs her pieces in keeping with Lulu’s exotic dreamscape aesthetic.
The campaign for her latest collection features velvet, brocade and satin. It also plays with prints, silhouettes, layers and Alice in Wonderland-style skirts. We’re in love with these detailed, feminine outfits with a twist, and can’t wait to see what Lulu does next.
We recently featured the collection's lookbook on the blog, along with an interview with Designer Luciana (a.k.a Lulu), which you can check out here.
