'HYPER-REAL': An Exclusive Editorial from VauHaus Agency

We’re loving the high-drama, 80s vibes of the latest offering from UK boutique agency VauHaus!

Shot by Toria Brightside, Hyper-real is a snapshot of a different kind of high school yearbook, creating looks that flesh-out whole characters on screen. It takes many of its cues from the 80s, with big, big hair that’s been side-swept and crimped, and some silk and lace that’s making us think of Madonna on her rise to fame.

This shoot is proof that there’s no such thing as too much highlighter, and despite Hyper-real’s pretty-in-pastel pallet, showcasing the glitz and trimmings of youth, brings us some models that aren’t your average prom queens.

VauHaus Agency represents the growing surge of fashion agencies bucking cookie-cutter trends when casting and styling. “We believe that curated appearances and transient careers aren't what the models or the world needs, and that advertising diversity and personal expression will inspire people to celebrate their own individuality,” they explain.
