Photoshoot: 'Head Full of Dreams' by Jessika Hill
Psychedelic “visionary environment”, Salvation Mountain, is situated in the Colarado Desert in California.
It has been featured in countless films and music videos, including Coldplay’s 'A Head Full of Dreams', which inspired photographer Jessika Hill to shoot here.
Local resident Leonard Knight commended the project in 1984, and the landscape truly does look like something out of your wildest fever dream, becoming a virtual Mecca for the creative and colourful regardless of religious belief.
Shooting in such an eye-catching location is never easy, but the outlandish art of Salvation Mountain does nothing to eclipse the Windswept, high-drama looks of Jessika’s model. Bright oranges and blues, sumptuous velvets and eye-catching florals complement the desert location and the surrounding art perfectly – model Cara could almost be a part of the landscape.
Jessika Hill is now Missouri-based, and her portfolio is a stunning collection of portrait and editorial work, often using more magnificent locations like this. To check it out, like her on Facebook or follow her on Instagram (@jessikahillphoto).
