FASHFEST 2017: An Interview with Bianca Pavlic The Label
With the countdown to this year's FASHFEST on (just over a week and counting!)...
Whim is getting super excited to make the trip down to Canberra and see some of the talented designers and entertainment on show.One such designer is Bianca Pavlic, who will be making her debut on the second night of the prestigious fashion event.We recently interviewed the up-and-coming talent to find out more about her inspiration, designs, and excitement for this year's FASHFEST. Q: Hello Bianca and congratulations on your upcoming debut at this year’s FASHFEST! We’re very excited to see your beautiful designs making their way down the runway. Can you reveal just some of the things we can look forward to from your show?
A: Hello! Thank you. I’m also excited for FASHFEST this year. Bianca Pavlic the Label will be debuting a collection of looks including pretty little details on flowing silhouettes serving to accentuate the flirty feminine form. You will expect to see delicate and vivacious fabrics artfully constructed to form dreamy silhouettes and promote the young feminine aesthetic.
Q: We understand you started your label in 2016 and have already achieved some amazing goals. What was it like to find out that you would have your very own dedicated runway show at Canberra’s most prestigious fashion event?
A: Naturally I’m really looking forward to participating in this year’s FASHFEST. It's a great opportunity to expand my label through the exposure that only a real, professional catwalk can provide. I see it as a stepping stone to larger and greater things.
Q: When it comes to your fashion designs, what inspires your creativity the most?
A: My designs are inspired by a carefree lifestyle, European textiles and haute couture principles combined with approachable casual elements.
Q: What are you most excited about in the lead-up to FASHFEST?
A: In the lead up to FASHFEST I’m most excited about seeing the collection taking form. Creating something from nothing and presenting my collection to the catwalk. And I’m excited to be showcasing in the city in which I live.
Q: Lastly, what advice would you offer to those wanting to follow a similar path in fashion design?
A: To follow your dreams, imagination and never limit yourself to small goals, always dream big and achieve what you want to.
