5 Tips for Creating a Heavenly Hallway

The hallway is often one of the most neglected spaces in our home, however, it is also one of the most important.

It’s what our guests first see when they come to visit us, and it sets the tone for the rest of our house. With that in mind, here's is how we can create the hallway of our dreams!

The Right Type Of Flooring

That hallway gets a lot of traffic. Therefore, cream carpets in your hall are a big no. We don’t want to be fretting every time someone steps through our doorway. We don’t want to worry about them treading something disgusting into our carpet. We want a floor that is low maintenance but still stylish. You should be going crazy for a concrete floor. It is durable and if you get a FKR grind and seal polished concrete floor, then you will also have a floor that is stunning to look at too. A concrete floor will stand up to the wear and tear, it’s easy to maintain and it won’t look dirty. A concrete floor will add a real elegant look to your hallway.

A Console Table

We need storage in our hallways and a console table is the perfect addition. It looks stylish and it is practical too. You can store all of your keys, notes, post and pens in it. You could also add flowers to it and then you will have a very welcoming space. You do want a console table that has drawers because that way you can conceal all of your clutter.

Mirrors

We want our hallway to look lovely and bright. A mirror will give our hallway the illusion of being bigger than it is. It will also bounce light around. We also need a mirror in our hallway so we can do a last minute outfit check before we head out of the door.

Lighting

Adding a stylish light to our hallway will give our hallway a focal point. You could go for a light that is really eye-catching. On the other hand you might want to take a more subtle approach to your lighting. You could have spotlights and dimmer switches. This will help you create a hallway that is warm and welcoming.

Door Mat

You might want to add a doormat so that you guests have somewhere to wipe their dirty feet. Go for a doormat that is bright and funky and adds a statement to your hallway. Just because you are being practical doesn’t mean that you have to be boring.

Creating a hallway that is warm and welcoming is easy to do and it doesn’t have to break the bank either. Take inspiration from your friend’s hallways and look in magazines too. You could also create a Pinterest board for your hallway. Collect lots of ideas and get pinning. You could soon be in hallway heaven.
