Featured Photographer: Stacey Russell
Stacey Russell is a 23-year-old photographer based in the sunny city of Brisbane, Australia. The young photographer's works have already inspired and caught the attention of many, and she was the Winner of the Westfield Chermside Project Be Styled in 2010, as well as a Top 3 Photographer Finalist in the QANTAS Spirit Of Youth Awards in 2010.
Stacey Russell describes her photography, stating: "I use natural light to capture pictures of pretty people in pretty clothing in pretty places. I adore fashion photography that captures the real essence of youth - the wild, the fragile, the innocent and the rebellious!" It is for these reasons that Whim has instantly fallen in love with her impressive, and extremely beautiful, portfolio.
When it comes to the photographer's own inspiration, she states: "Inspiration for my photography is often drawn from my observation of human behaviour and personalities, particularly those of the younger generation. Cityscapes, landscapes and general atmosphere influence my use of colour, light, shadows and patterns that are evident in my work."
