The above photoshoot by photographer Brie Seavey reminds us of the most beautiful works of art. The photographer also had this notion in mind, as she added a wonderful canvas effect to each of the photographs in the series.

Brie Seavey is a photographer based in Las Vegas who loves "the idea of souls dancing together, creating synergy to get to places to fulfill their dreams." We fell in love with her photoshoot 'Daydream', as it tells the story of a woman who wanted to take some time out for herself, to do the things she loves the most: reading, dancing, clear thinking, and laughing.

Whim was very excited to interview Brie and to ask her about her love of photography, as well as the story behind this beautiful photoshoot:

Q: When did you first discover your love of photography?
A: Well I was introduced to it when I was a kid and always took the "rules" of it into consideration which I think allowed my "eye" to grow as I did, but I didn't go all out with it from the get-go. Photography has been a gradual obsession for me - a journey.

Q: What concepts or emotions do you often like to portray through your photography?
A: I dig shooting bohemian, or "hippy'ish"  looking kind of stuff because that's mainly who I am, but I also like fun, playful conceptual shoots, and from time to time I find myself exploring the combination of soft and dark which I have named whimsy horror. No matter what the concept is, I really enjoy finding that place with the model to achieve the overall idea of the shoot; that "we got it" moment is the best.

Q: Please tell us a little more about the experience you had shooting the featured photo shoot?
A: The concept here was based on a girl going out to get away from it all, to have a moment of me time: to read, dance, daydream, laugh and have a free spirited moment. I then wanted to make the experience look like dreamy art as if it was a wonderful memory she wanted to hold on to and let it remind her to just take a moment from time to time.

Q: What is the best piece of photography advice you’ve ever heard or been given?
A: That's a tough one since there are so many important key pieces to the puzzle with photography. I think I will go with that our eyes go to the brightest spot in an image which should also be the most important, and that's generally not feet or armpits. ;)

Q: What do you hope to achieve with your photography in the near future – do you have any
exciting, upcoming plans?
A: I hope to find more guts and knowledge in the business end of it, and more vulnerability in my work, allowing myself to dig deeper into my imagination. As for upcoming, exciting things, I pretty much always have an idea up my sleeve that I'm about to work on. ;)
