Illustrator come fashion designer, Brigitte May, encompasses everything beauty aspires to be. Her whimsical take on her illustrative work demonstrates all the fundamental details of her subject, without flooding our senses. Pastel tones and soft lines reign supreme throughout her illustrations, with constant undertones of nature’s plethora of flora and fauna an indicative in her themes.
Currently undertaking her graduate year as a Whitehouse Institute Fashion Design student, her final collection comprises of minute, hand-finished detailing and takes on a life of its own with its fairytale inspired garments, fit for an ancient princess. Previous collections featured prints of her own illustrations, ensuring her feminine, dream-like style speaks volumes to the contrast of the blunt angles currently parading the catwalks.
Already truly establishing herself as an accomplished artist, Brigitte is set to launch her new porcelain collection, Nest The Label, with a friend later this year. Her remarkable illustrative style perfectly complements the old-fashioned appeal of delicate china, with an added touch of elegance.
