An Interview with RAW Sydney Hair Stylist of the Year 2013: Lena-Marie
Art is not limited to merely paint and canvas, just as renowned hair and makeup artist Lena-Marie is proving. Based out of Sydney, Lena-Marie's immaculately executed styles and looks have seen her awarded numerous accolades for her amazing work.
Most recently titled RAW Sydney Hair Stylist of the Year for 2013, this stylist states that she draws inspiration "from my desire to be innovative yet understand and exceed client expectations." From classic bridal up-styles to unique modern creations, Lena-Marie continues to grow and evolve as one of the most noteworthy artists in her field.
Whim recently chatted to the talented hair stylist to congratulate her on her recent RAW Sydney success, and to ask her all about her passion for all things 'hair':
Q: Congratulations on winning first place in the hairstylist category! Please tell us, what have you loved the most about your RAW Sydney experience?
A: I loved showcasing my creative style and showing some of my versatile skills.
Q: What was your initial reaction when you heard the news that you would go on to represent Sydney in your category?
A: I was very proud to represent my hometown here in Sydney.
Q: When did you first discover your love of hairstyling?
A: From an early age hairstyling was always a passion of mine and creativity has always come naturally to me so bringing the two together just seemed to work well for me throughout my career, especially useful in fashion shows.
Q: What inspires your creativity the most?
A: My inspiration comes from my desire to be innovative yet understand and exceed client expectations.
Q: What do you hope to achieve with your hairstyling career in the near future – are there any exciting, upcoming plans that you would like to share with us?
A: My plan is to continue expanding my creative styling, building on it and continuing to enhance creative styling with my own twist.
