'Blue Utopia': A Clothing Collection by Jessica Shaw

British fashion designer Jessica Shaw has captured nostalgia and the "illusion of daydreams" in her clothing collection titled 'Blue Utopia'. It may have been a little while since the designer released this S/S 12/13 collection, however with another one soon to be released (based on Lolita - how exciting!), we thought it'd be great to take a look at the talented designer's journey into fashion so far.
Jessica Shaw graduated from Middlesex University in 2010, and since then the British fashion designer has gone on to capture the attention and adoration of many through her elegant and dreamy work.
Jessica draws inspiration from her northern background and suburban city influence, and her work also embodies her interests in both photography and fine art. The designer's website explains: "Inspired by the hopeless romantic, Jessica takes inspiration by absorbing the diverse world around her."
'Blue Utopia' draws inspiration from Betien Van Manen's photographic collection of everyday objects, such as knitted doilies and old lace trims, as well as "cut off's from beloved dresses worn in childhood". The colour blue was chosen for its ability to capture the emotion of nostalgia, as well as the concept of daydreams.
To take a look at more stunning images from the 'Blue Utopia' collection and to check out more wonderful work from this young designer, you can visit Jessica Shaw's website or Facebook page.
