'Phases' is a stunning and dreamy shoot by Taylor Varvil which seems to capture a certain electricity and magic in the air. Based out of Florida and originally from Chicago, Taylor is a talented budding photographer who has been drawn to the medium of photography her whole life.
"I don't know why, but photographs have always fascinated me.. Just the fact that you can capture a beautiful second in time, and have it to cherish forever. I love film for that reason, as well," she says.
When it comes to her photography, Taylor's camera of choice is her trusty Nikon N75. Being a film camera, the device is able to not only capture images but to also turn them into works of art with its soft-focus and ability for multiple exposures, such as those featured in the photoshoot above.
Taylor explains the inspiration behind her photographic work, as well as what she aims to achieve with her photography, stating: "In my work, I love to use vintage items and try to give the photos an older feel and I feel that I am constantly in the battle of dark and light, usually tending to have dark shoots that are in some way also very light, or vice versa. Something that has been of huge influence in my art is positivity, and finding the good in bad situations. I cannot forget to mention that my family, friends, and people who have entered my life for the good or the bad, have continually inspired me to create."
