Featured RAW Sydney Artist: Loni Thompson
Loni Thompson certainly knows how to capture our imagination with a few brush strokes and some intricate sketching. This Sydney-based illustrator and graphic designer has truly found her niche, combining fine pencil drawings with splashes of bold watercolour. Loni’s creations beautifully depict the glory of nature, with each illustration like a page out of a magical children’s storybook.
This creative soul has recently been branching out from her traditional methods to explore digital work with her art. In her own words, Loni states, “I am heavily inspired by the natural world and my surroundings, I love to experiment with colours and patterns.” Loni’s recent display at the RAW Sydney ‘Mosaic’ artist showcase drew enormous attention by all attendees (including from all of us here at Whim) for its magical, effortless and enthralling charm.
Currently undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design at the Design Centre Enmore, we cannot wait to see what this emerging artist has to offer in the years to come.
