Evolution is essential to success in the creative world. Emerging fashion photographer Sophie Pellegrini has certainly learnt the ropes of the industry, all at just 21 years of age. Working out of the Washington, D.C. area, the professionalism Sophie’s work embodies is truly impressive. Growing from intimate self-portraits to striking artistic fashion shoots, these images are playful, unassuming and effortlessly spectacular.

Being a self-taught artist certainly has its perks, affording photographers the freedom and ability to form their own distinctive stylistic features. For the past six years, Sophie has been dabbling in both digital and film photography to construct shots filled with beauty and alluring charm. Each series features a distinctive colour palette, drawing upon the light, colours and textures of the surrounding environment. It is this eye for the unexpected and ability to manipulate the most mundane of scenes into magical moments that makes Sophie’s work all the more amazing.

In her most recent shoots, Sophie has focused on the complexities and uniqueness of the human form. Sophie herself states, “I like to think of my work as fashion portraiture. I aim to focus on the person in the photograph and let their personality and character take precedent”.
