Fellow Dreamers: Supporting a Beautiful Label with a Great Cause

Loungewear label Fellow Dreamers is the essence of everything we love here at Whim - feminine and incredibly beautiful designs showcased by one of our favourite photographers (Vivienne Mok, who also has an editorial in our latest digital issue!). But that's certainly not all; "Fellow Dreamers is a new loungewear and lingerie label with sustainability and positive social change at the heart of luxury design — created from a desire to offer an alternative to fast, throw-away fashion."

Jemilla Robertson is the talented soul behind Fellow Dreamers who had the desire to create a luxury label with good values that is ethically produced. Fellow Dreamers chooses to step away from the fast and mass production fashion model that has become far too prevalent in today's society, and the designer wants to ensure that she is truly engaged with the entire production experience.

With such positive aspirations behind this stunning label, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Fellow Dreamers has already taken the fashion world by storm. The emerging label actually needs our help, and as a result is currently running a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise enough funds to successfully launch the label.

Jemilla explains: "Every single piece in this range has been carefully considered, our fabrics carefully chosen, each stitch of embroidery selected and our shapes adjusted for comfort.  All of our pieces are beautifully hand finished with details such as French seams and hand crochet edging. It’s been over two years of hard work, trial and error, relationship forming, and trips back and forth to India to get to this crucial point, where we are proud to release our designs, hopes and dreams to the wider world."

The much-needed funds will go towards the following:

• Purchase of bulk fabric and meeting minimum dyeing and printing  requirements
•  First production of rewards
•  London trade show in early 2015 to meet potential clients and market  the Fellow Dreamers brand
•  Photoshoot and look book for web and physical brochure
•  Packaging, labels and tags for clothing
