Featured Photoshoot: 'Lazy, Crazy, Hazy Days of Summer' from Siobhán Abbey
When we imagine the perfect Summer, we picture it to be a lot like this beautiful editorial titled 'Lazy, Crazy, Hazy Days of Summer', sent to us by the talented Siobhán Abbey. Summer is coming up here in Australia soon, so we might have to take inspiration from today's featured photoshoot and spend it wandering about in white cotton dresses with flower crowns at the ready - We wish!
Today's shoot is a collaboration of multiple creative individuals, so we think it's best we give you a brief run-down of some of those involved:
The stunning images were captured by Sophie Mears, a HND photography student from the West Midlands. She explains: "My passion is taking photos and I have an inherent love for Black and White photography. 'Lazy, Crazy, Hazy Days of Summer' was a break away from my standard style and comfort zone and wanted to produce a set of images that evoked summer, innocence and friendship. Working with a large team is fairly new to me so being able to work with Dream Street Models and Events and their team was great and has enabled us to put forward a strong editorial submission."
The Dream Street Group are an Award Winning Event & Model Management company based in the West Midlands, and all of the gorgeous models from this shoot are part of this agency. The Dream Street Group was created by Chloe Avon to question an image deceived society with the real people challenging the industry requirements across the nation; designed for models of all ages, sizes and backgrounds.
Siobhán Abbey is the Creative Director and Stylist of today's shoot, and she was also lovely enough to share this submission with Whim. Siobhán explains: "I am a Birmingham based Freelance Stylist and Creative Director. I am a bit of a perfectionist and really believe that its the details that make a great image. I take inspiration from everything around me: dance, music, fashion or general day to day. I love creating images that are emotive and that people can be inspired by. I also really love working with local brands and creative individuals to increase the exposure for local talent and products."
Niamh Abbey is the talented MUA behind the girls' beautiful make-up looks, and Niamh is based in Birmingham, UK.
Last, but certainly not least, all flower crowns have been provided by Parker Rose. The label states: "We are a Birmingham based fashion company with a keen eye on fashion. Parker Rose was created with the petite and curvy in mind but due to demand we now make made to measure clothing for all."
We want to extend a huge thank you to all of the incredible creatives listed above, and we encourage our readers to explore through each and everyone's links to discover even more great work from them. Enjoy!
