When it comes to our readers, we know you don’t just simply follow trends. You’re a dreamer, a doer, a creative soul who isn’t afraid to stand out from the pack as you create your own pathway towards achieving your dream. When it comes to your style choices, you like to have fun and bend the rules – after all, you’re only limited by your imagination.

HP and fashion designer Nixi Killick have partnered together to bring you #BendTheRulesAustralia, a competition with the aim of amplifying how technology plays an important part in fashion.

People are asked to submit text, images and / or videos via their social media channels which show how they bend the rules in fashion, including the hashtag #BendTheRulesAustralia.

The winner receives their very own HP Envy x2 13 (valued at $1,399), plus there’s weekly spot prizes such as Beats Headphones and movie tickets up for grabs.

This competition got us thinking, who do we admire that bends the rules in fashion? Suddenly our minds were filled with visions of the platform shoes-clad, pom-pom-adorned sisters from Australian blog ‘How Two Live’.

If you’re not already familiar with the quirky brunettes, Jess and Stef (aged 21 and 25) have taken the world by storm by bending the rules of fashion. Their often matching outfits tend to err on the side of ‘bizarre’, with incredibly chunky platforms, clashing prints and intergalactic garments making a regular appearance.

At a recent Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia show, editors of more ‘conservative’ fashion publications shunned the pair of bloggers as absolute jokes because of their never-before-seen sense of styling.

Despite their critics, How Two Live remains incredibly popular (116,000 Instagram followers and counting) because their rule-breaking and unique style is like a breath of fresh air in an often consumer-driven and rule-laden fashion world.

From the images featured you will see that their kitsch style is a whole lot of fun and that is why we have chosen to write about the pair in regards to bending the rules in fashion (and inspiring a whole generation in the process).

Perhaps you believe blue and green should be seen, or think the more clashing prints the better?

Entry is super easy – all you have to do is include the hashtag #BendTheRulesAustralia for your entry to count on any of your social media platforms.

You can check out some entries here and the full terms and conditions for this competition can be found at this link .
