How wonderful are the vivid colours of this stunning steampunk-inspired shoot by Michelle Howard of EM Arts & Vintage Photography?

Based in the UK, Michelle runs her photography business from her very own small country based studio where her work concentrates on portraits and wedding photography.

Surprisingly, Michelle did not begin her creative journey as a photographer and for many years was an artist. She states: "My life as a creative person did not start out as a photographer. I was an artist from the day I could hold a pencil. Becoming  a photographer was a journey I wasn’t sure I would ever take. I can’t really say why, but it was maybe due to the a lack of knowledge, expense and fear of the unknown."

When Michelle devastatingly lost her mother to cancer, she too lost her motivation and inspiration to create. Grief had taken its toll, until one day Michelle decided to re-discover herself, her interests and the joys she holds dearly in life.

She explains: "Photography was my savour, the minute I knew what it truly was, I ate every book, website, lecture, youtube channel. Anything that could feed this insatiable hunger I was willing to walk that extra mile.  I no longer paint with a brush, I paint with light."

Michelle's story is truly inspirational and we encourage you to view more of her amazing work through visiting her website and liking her Facebook page. You're sure to fall in love with each and every image! Michelle also has an Instagram account which is well worth a follow.
