Photoshoot + Interview: A Collaboration between Gemma Lock Photography + Tash Hutchins Lingerie
How beautiful is this ethereal and enchanting collaboration between Gemma Lock Photography and lingerie designer Tash Hutchins?
We're huge fans of anything lacy and when teamed with milkmaid braids adorned in baby's breath and little purple flowers? It's a true winner in our eyes!
Gemma Lock is a talented fashion and portrait photographer based in the UK. You'll be pleased to know that we recently had the pleasure of interviewing this wonderful creative and you can check out her inspiring responses below!

Q: When did your love of photography first bloom?A: From a very young age, photography was involved in my life. My dad always had a camera, capturing everything and from a little child I was interested to see the documentation and being able to, when older, see myself and how time has changed but always being able to have that moment in time captured forever.
Q: What inspires your creativity the most?A: Fashion photography itself inspires me, but also I adore music and flowers! So I find listening to chill out music lets me relax and that is when I can get creative and sometimes ideas can come to me! But normally looking at different flowers I find inspires my photography, with their colours and their shape.
Q: Please tell us a little about the experience you had whilst shooting these images?A: This shoot was for Tash Hutchins' clothing line, but we kept it very soft and delicate giving the images pink hues and thus a very romantic feel. The shoot was really fun to do! We played all sorts of music and kept it very relaxed between each outfit change and got to be very creative with the hair, placing different types of flowers in her hair!
Q: What does an average day in the life of Gemma involve?A: Haha, oh well everyday is different! But a photographic day is lets say I’m shooting in the morning? I would generally start a shoot at 10am. So, I would be up and dressed for 9am so I can get to the studio all ready and make some sandwiches for everyone at lunchtime. The team will then arrive, get ready and we’d generally shoot till 2/3pm if it is a normal shoot. But it can go on longer if it's a big shoot! Then my evenings can normally include checking over the images and getting the images selected to edit. Then I will have dinner (my favourite is a Sunday roast!) which then I could relax with either reading a book (generally fantasy or sci-fi based) or playing video games to relax! Then a cup of tea in bed, before sleep!
Q: What do you hope to achieve with your work in the not-too-distant future; Do you have any upcoming, exciting plans that you would like to share with us?A: Well I am going to graduate in July, so that's going to be pretty big for my up-coming plans! But for closer times, I shall be going to a magazine launch night in May which will have some of my work in it! And I’ve got a selection of personal shoots planned. One, which will include milk and flowers in a bath tub! And another, in a gorgeous garden which has started blooming near my house, with some coloured smoke bombs and pretty dresses! So hopefully very girly and pastel shoots coming up shortly!
