FASHFEST: Friday's Runway Show (Cartographer)
"The mapper inspired by location and place. The cartographer uses the land, constructed and natural, to inform and inspire. Bricks and contours become cuts and folds, creating garments that are informed by and communicate place and belonging."
These brilliant words set the scene for FASHFEST's Friday night show, featuring collections from fashion designers including Melanie Child, Tanja Von Behrens, Braddon Tailors, Bird Keepers, Illusory Cog, Red Corner, Maak, Simone Perele, Miranda Sakhino and Sovata.
The show opened with an energetic pop performance by Mel Jade, while musicians Jemist and Ben Bonney kept the playful mood going during the runway shows.
We absolutely loved the entire Cartographer set, but our particular favourites would have to be Bird Keepers, Maak and Miranda Sakhino for their more whimsical and feminine designs.
