With a new collaborative album which can be described as "epic", 'City Blog' from Gideon King & City Blog is something you need to listen to now!

Gideon King & City Blog are both New York City jazz rock fusion visionaries, and this musical project between the group of talented musicians has proven to be a true success.

As the singer's bio states: "Gideon is bringing back real music, with real chord changes, real solos, real instruments, and real humans improvising and lending their souls to the City Blog effort."

The first track on the album is titled 'City Blog' and it contains a very jazz-like opening with its chilled piano tune. This song is lively and it captured my attention straight away. What I perhaps liked the most was the surprisingly indie-sounding vocals in this track.

There's a long list of people involved in creating this magical album, but Gideon plays lead electric, acoustic, and synth guitars on all the songs and is supported by great musicians all the way through. He also contributes with his smooth vocals.

'See In Double' and 'New York Is' have a wonderful chilled-back vibe, with the songs' soulful vocals and jazz-infused instrumentals. I can really imagine both of these songs being performed in a Broadway show!

'Down' had a hypnotic beginning with its eclectic mix of instrumentals. Although there seemed to be a lot going on, it all worked quite harmoniously and mixed things up a little.

'Friendship Cliche' and 'Dirty Bastard' were my two favourite tracks thanks to their experimental sound, boppy rhythm and ability to transport my mind somewhere far away - There was a distinct 'resort sound' to these which I loved.

'What You Say' and 'Glide' both featured some really pretty and soulful female vocals, reaching fantastic high notes. They had a relaxed sound which was very easy to listen to. 'Just Play' was a similar song, although its harmonious male and female vocals gave it a twist.

The album closed with a unique song titled 'Broken Noise', which felt very much like a combination of parts from the previous songs. What a great way to finish an album!

I encourage you to see what all of the fuss is about by listening to the released track from the album, 'City Blog' - It's a great song! You can also follow along on Facebook and Instagram, or why not check out their official website? Enjoy!
