If you're a fan of musicians such as Bob Dylan or Death Cab For Cutie, then you're going to love the Folk Pop and Americana sound of four-piece The Furious Seasons.

The band's latest record to be released this year is "My Love Is Strong", a fantastic collection of 13 songs ranging from sombre and beautifully melancholic to upbeat and infectiously fun.

Based in L.A, this band is made up of David Steinhart (vocals), Jeff Steinhart (guitar), Bob Gannon (bass) and Eric Marin (keyboard).

The first song on the record, titled "Southern Night", begins with harmonious vocals, shortly followed by an upbeat melody on piano and drums which will have you dancing in your seat. I was instantly impressed, with the phrase "catchy folk pop without the cringe-factor" springing to mind to describe their sound so far.

"Understood" is the second track on the record, also starting with those similarly choir-esque vocals and beautifully calming instrumentals. This song contained some different (albeit, stranger) subject matter, telling the story of the antagonist who had shot a man out of revenge and then had to be hung for his crime.

"Perfectly" followed on from this track, and it also contained a more sombre and softer sound. This song was a true showcase of David Steinhart's vocals, as it was understated, yet heartfelt and beautiful.

"Fooled By The Bottle" was another upbeat track, however if I had to choose a song from the record which just didn't 'grab' me as much as the others did, this would have to be it (along with the 6th song titled "Bad Man"). Mind you, I sure did have a few favourites...

Speaking of favourites, "Summer" was the next song in line, and I wholeheartedly enjoyed this one for its rhythmic beginning and stunning vocals. It's one you'll definitely want to listen to!

Following on from this track was another favourite of mine, titled "Full Disclosure". It was quite different to the previous tracks, with the inclusion of an energetic and uplifting trumpet sequence in the beginning. This song tells the tale of a middle-aged romance, with the tongue-in-cheek lyrics:

“What’s the point in looking back, I’m a couple years shy of my first major heart attack, But with you on my arm, We could take this world on.”

"Valentine", "Here". "Wind Blown" and "Soft Landing" are all slower, more sombre songs, while "My Love Is Strong" and "Want Me To" are upbeat, catchy and contain a quicker pace.

All in all, I loved listening to this record from start to finish, and it left me feeling quite uplifted and relaxed - something a great album will often do to you!
