Event: The Sydney Cat Cafe Pop-Up at Gaffa Gallery
I'll admit it, I'm quite the crazy cat lady, but I think anyone who has had the pleasure of owning a super lovely kitty can't help but turn into one!
The Sydney Cat Café is a unique concept for us Sydney-siders - Despite cat cafés being common in countries such as China, Japan and the USA, it's just something that hadn't come to our shores...until this year of course!
Veronica is the cat-loving Founder of the Sydney Cat Café (pictured above with a wriggly kitty), who has had the admirable ambition of opening up a café in one of Sydney's inner city suburbs which will promote cat adoption. Partnering with a number of local animal shelters (such as Maggie's Rescue), diners will be able to enjoy delicious treats and delectable coffee, all in the presence of these adorable and adoptable cats!
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's extremely excited for the café's opening in September, and the team were kind enough to host a pop-up event at Gaffa Gallery last week (with cat necessities sponsored by the generous people at Purina) to give eager cat-lovers a taste of what's to come.
Surrounded by cute kittens and pretty decor, it felt like the perfect way to spend a Thursday morning. Add coffee and a salted caramel brownie to the mix, and it just can't get any better, can it?
For those of you who have already booked yourself a spot at this week's pop-up sessions (13 – 15 August), you have an awesome cat café experience to look forward to! Unfortunately if you haven't made a booking for this event, it has now been booked out, proving just how successful this entire concept is. Not to worry though, as the bricks-and-mortar café will be coming to Sydney very soon :)
In the meantime (or meow-ntime, as the website says), please sign up to the cafe's mailing list to keep updated with their latest news. You can also check out their website here, and please be sure to follow along on Facebook and Instagram (@sydneycatcafe) - because you can never have too many cute cat photos popping up in your feed!
Thank you so much to the Sydney Cat Café team for inviting Whim along to experience this pop-up event!
