Black Lives Matter: Educational Resources to Watch, Read + Listen to
Remember when we announced the re-launch of Whim and stated that moving forward, important conversations needed to be had? In light of recent, heartbreaking events, this is certainly one of them.
Like many, we too find ourselves without words to express such sorrow, but one thing is for certain: now is not the time to remain silent. That’s why we wanted to share a list of important resources, including books, websites, podcasts, documentaries, and more, to not only encourage education about racial hatred and injustice but to also spark vital conversations and inspire positive change - once and for all.
Before we dive in, we’ll leave you with this touching poem from Morgan Harper-Nichols.
Empathy:
“Let me
hold the door for you.
I may have
never walked
in your shoes,
but I can see
your soles are worn,
your strength is torn
under the weight of a story
I have never lived before.
Let me hold the door for you.
After all you’ve walked through,
it’s the least I can do.”
